Description

Job Title: Respiratory Therapist (Travel)
Start Date: ASAP


Position Overview:
We are seeking experienced Respiratory Therapists to join a dynamic team providing care across adult, pediatric, and neonatal populations. This role requires strong clinical skills, the ability to work independently, and experience in high-acuity environments including NICU.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assess patients and develop treatment plans based on physician orders
  • Administer respiratory therapies including oxygen, airway management, and ventilation
  • Perform procedures such as ABGs, chest physiotherapy, BiPAP/CPAP, nebulizers, and inhalers
  • Manage mechanical ventilation and assist in resuscitation
  • Independently perform intubations for pediatric and adult patients
  • Set up and monitor respiratory equipment
  • Perform EKGs as required (non-ER settings)


    Patient Population:
  • Adults
  • Pediatrics
  • Neonates (NICU experience preferred; Berkeley is Level II NICU)


    Requirements:
  • BLS, ACLS, PALS required
  • NRP required (updated requirement)
  • RRT preferred; CRT accepted (if licensed prior to July 1, 2022)
  • Experience with NICU, pediatrics, and adult patients required
  • Must be able to intubate independently


    Equipment & Systems:
  • EMR: Epic
  • Ventilators: Servo U, Hamilton G5, Hamilton T1 (transport)
  • BiPAP: Philips Respironics V60
  • High Flow Systems: AirVo & MaxTech


    Workload & Scheduling:
  • Patient load varies (approx. 12–25 patients depending on census)
  • Shifts assigned and balanced by management (schedule released ~4 weeks in advance)
  • Orientation: ~3 shifts (12-hour)


    Scheduling Requirements:
  • Every other weekend required
    • Nights: Fri/Sat/Sun
    • Days: Sat/Sun
  • Every other holiday required
  • Call rotation: Fri 7 PM – Sun 7 PM (shared across department)


    Vaccination Requirement:
  • COVID-19 vaccination required (2 doses of Moderna/Pfizer or 1 dose J&J)
  • Medical/religious exemptions must be submitted and approved
