🚨 RN – Emergency Department (ED)
📍 Charlotte, North Carolina (CMC Main)
- Duration: 13 Weeks
- Shift: 12-Hour Nights (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM)

- 874 Licensed Beds
- Level I Trauma Center
- Teaching Hospital
- Magnet Designated
- Certified Chest Pain & Stroke Center
- 📍 1000 Blythe Blvd, Charlotte, NC 28203
- Radius Rule: Must live 50+ miles from facility
Requirements
- Minimum 2 years ED experience
- First-time travelers: Not preferred, but considered
- Required Certifications:
- BLS
- ACLS
- PALS
- NIHSS
- CPI
- Preferred: TNCC
Skills Required
- Trauma & Stroke care
- Cardiac rhythm interpretation
- Conscious sedation
- IV starts (PIV)
- Chest tubes, NGT, drains
- Critical care drips
- Blood administration
Unit Details
- 43 ED Beds + 20 Boarding Beds
- Travelers often support ED Holds (Med/Tele level)
- Patient Ratio:
- RN: 1:5 (acuity-based)
- CNA: 1:7
Support Staff
- Charge Nurse (24/7)
- CNA & HUC
- IV/VAT Team
- Respiratory Therapy (24/7)
- Hospitalist & Intensivist (24/7)
- Phlebotomy (peripheral draws)
- Nurses manage telemetry
Technology
- EMR: EPIC
- IV Pumps: Alaris
- Medication System: Omnicell
- Monitoring: Philips
Floating Requirements
- Required within Region 1:
- Cabarrus, University City, Stanly
- Freestanding EDs
- Lake Norman
- Central Division (CMC Main, Mercy, LCH)
- Paid travel time if floating mid-shift
Schedule & Conditions
- Every other weekend
- No on-call
- 75% holiday requirement
- Up to 6 days RTO (excluding holidays)
