Job Overview

• Specialty: Stepdown / Progressive Care (PCU)
• Schedule: 3x12s, Night Shift
• Shift: 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM
• Contract Length: 13 weeks
• Start Date: ASAP
• Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week
• Setting: Acute Care Hospital

Responsibilities

• Provide care for stepdown and med-surg level patients in a flex unit
• Monitor and manage patients requiring closer observation than med-surg
• Titrate drips including heparin, insulin, antihypertensives, and cardiac medications
• Administer medications and manage PCA pumps and TPN
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to coordinate patient care
• Utilize telemetry monitoring and respond to clinical changes appropriately
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation in EMR

Requirements

• Active RN license (in hand at time of submission)
• BLS certification (AHA)
• Minimum 1+ year of Stepdown/PCU or relevant acute care experience
• Must be comfortable with 3:1 (stepdown) and up to 6:1 (med-surg) ratios
• Experience with titratable drips required
• EPIC experience required
