Job Opportunity: CVOR Registered Nurse
Location: Utica, New York
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Description
- Work schedule: Day shift, 4 days per week, 10 hours per day (6:30 AM – 5:00 PM)
- Call: 7 days per schedule
- Float: to General OR as needed
- Weekends: 3-4 per schedule depending on shift
- Local radius: 75 miles
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in New York
- Minimum 2 years of CVOR experience, including experience within the last year
- ACLS certification issued by the American Heart Association
- BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association or American Red Cross
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
Certifications & Training
- BLS (Basic Life Support)
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
- Harassment Prevention Training Certificate (New York, annual requirement)
- Medication/Pharmacology Competency Exam (minimum 80% score)
- Dysrhythmia/EKG Competency Exam (required for ICU, PCU, ER, CT ICU, and 7th Floor M/S Unit; expires every 3 years)
- Color Blind Testing (required prior to start)
Health & Compliance Requirements
- Physical exam within 1 year of start
- Fit mask test within 1 year of start, updated annually (specific N95 masks required)
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year of start (PPD, Quantiferon Gold accepted; Tspot not accepted)
- Immunizations or positive titers required for:
- Rubeola (Measles)
- Mumps
- Rubella
- Hepatitis B (titer, declination, or vaccine series)
- Varicella (titer, vaccine, or documented history of chickenpox)
- 9 Panel Drug Screen within 1 year of start
- Seasonal flu vaccination or declination during flu season (September 1 – March 31)
- Pneumonia vaccination or declination required
Documentation & Onboarding
- Government-issued photo ID (driver’s license or state ID)
- Emergency contact form (required prior to start)
- Background checks including 7-year search, sex offender registry, EPLS/GSA/SAM, and HHS/OIG (updated annually)
- Education verification and Florida Education Audit Confirmation (for RN/LPN only)
- Facility-specific documents including:
- Photo for badge (headshot, plain background, no head coverings)
- Job description acknowledgment
- Welcome packet acknowledgment
- Omnicell form (for nursing staff)
- Pneumococcal declination form if declining vaccine
- Completion of online learning modules prior to first shift (module completion must be documented)
References & Experience
- 2 professional references required for travel, allied, or per diem acute care roles (within 3 years of start)
- 1 professional reference required for per diem non-acute care roles
