Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) to join our Rehabilitation Services team in an acute care hospital setting. The PTA will work under the supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist to provide high-quality care to adult patients, including those in critical care, medical-surgical, and trauma units. This role focuses on improving patient mobility, strength, and overall functional outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist Physical Therapists in implementing individualized treatment plans
• Provide therapy services to patients in acute care, critical care, med-surg, and trauma units
• Perform therapeutic exercises, mobility training, and functional activities
• Monitor patient progress and report changes to the supervising Physical Therapist
• Ensure patient safety during all treatments and interventions
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation in compliance with hospital policies
• Educate patients and families on therapy goals and home exercise programs
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams

Required Qualifications:

• Active California PTA License
• Completion of an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program
• BLS (Basic Life Support) certification
• Minimum 1+ year of experience in hospital-based acute care setting
• Experience working with adult patient populations

Preferred Experience:

• Experience in critical care, medical-surgical (med-surg), and trauma units
• Strong understanding of acute care rehabilitation practices
