Registered Nurse (OR Specialty) - North Dakota, Fargo
Job Details
- Specialty: OR - RN Specialty
- Location: Fargo, North Dakota
- Contract Length: 13 weeks
- Shift: 8 or 10 hour days, approximately 40 hours per week
- Call Schedule: 1 to 2 days per week and every 3 to 4 weekends
- Floating: May rarely float to other campuses if needed
- Unit Size: 25 OR suites, 75 to 100 cases per day on average
- Nurse to Patient Ratio: 1:1
Job Description
- Circulating nurse duties including sterile prepping of surgical sites, catheter insertion, opening sterile supplies, positioning patients for surgery, documenting in electronic records, and setting up/using OR equipment.
- Procedures include general surgical cases, GYN, urology, laparoscopic, strong neuro and ortho cases with navigation equipment.
- Experience with robotics (DaVinci preferred) is a plus.
- Equipment used includes computerized charting (modeled after EPIC), Accudose, cautery, lasers, laparoscopic and arthroscopy equipment, and Stealth navigation for neuro cases.
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in North Dakota
- Minimum 2 years of Operating Room (OR) experience, including experience within the last year
- BLS Certification
- Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
- Experience in an Acute Care setting
- Experience in a large hospital (250+ beds)
- Experience with surgical robotics (DaVinci)
- OB/GYN experience
- Urology experience
- Neurology experience
- Orthopedics experience
Additional Information
- Must be willing to stay late as needed (extension of regular shift, not call back)
- Scrub color provided: Ceil Blue
- Clinicians must badge in and out at the facility
- Candidates living within 60 miles of the facility are not eligible
- Prior employment with this facility requires a minimum 6-month gap before reapplying
This position is ideal for experienced OR RNs comfortable with a high-volume, acute care surgical environment including neuro and ortho specialties.
