Shift: Days, 5x8s (7:30 AM – 4:00 PM)
Schedule: No weekends, no call
Guaranteed Hours: Facility may cancel up to 1 shift every 2 weeks
Position Overview:
Wound Care RN role in a Magnet-designated, Level 1 Trauma teaching hospital providing advanced wound, ostomy, and skin integrity management across adult, pediatric, and mental health populations.
Required Experience & Certifications:
- Minimum 2 years of WOCN-certified wound care RN experience
- WOCN certification required (hard requirement)
- BLS required
- Must be comfortable managing complex wound and ostomy cases
Preferred Experience:
- Pediatric wound care experience strongly preferred
- Teaching hospital experience preferred
- Previous charge nurse experience preferred
Key Clinical Skills:
- Wound assessment and staging (Stage I–IV)
- Wound VAC / NPWT therapy
- Debridement (sharp, enzymatic, mechanical, autolytic)
- Ostomy care (colostomy, ileostomy, urostomy)
- Fistula management
- Pressure, venous, arterial, and neuropathic ulcers
- Skin substitutes and advanced wound therapies
- Braden scale and risk assessment tools
- Infection control and patient education
Patient Population:
- Adults, pediatrics, geriatrics
- Mental health wound care patients
- Complex acute and chronic wound cases
- Ostomy and fistula patients
Facility Details:
- Magnet-designated teaching hospital
- Level 1 Trauma Center
- 865 staffed beds
- Epic EMR system
- Facility-provided scrubs
- Parking available ($20 one-time pass for nights/weekends)
Additional Requirements:
- Must live outside 60-mile radius (locals considered at reduced rate)
- All RTO must be submitted at time of application
- Facility may cancel 1 shift per 2 weeks
- Only one MUSC submission allowed at a time
