Registered Respiratory Therapist (CRT) – Hendrick Medical Center – Abilene, TX

We are seeking a Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) for a night shift travel assignment at a high-acuity acute care facility in Abilene, Texas.

Position Details:

• Specialty: Respiratory Therapy (CRT)
• Facility: Large acute care hospital (500+ beds)
• Shift: 3x12 Night (19:00 – 07:00)
• Schedule: Every other weekend rotation
• Contract Length: 13 weeks
• Start Date: 05/18/2026
• Orientation: Approximately 72 hours

Job Summary:
The Respiratory Therapist will provide respiratory care services across a general patient population, including adult, pediatric, neonatal, and critical care patients. This role includes supporting NICU-level respiratory care and responding to rapid response needs throughout the hospital.

Required Qualifications:

• Minimum 2 years of respiratory therapy experience preferred
• CRT credential required (RRT preferred but not required)
• BLS required
• ACLS, NRP, and PALS preferred or required depending on assignment needs
• Experience in NICU preferred
• Travel experience strongly preferred

Clinical Responsibilities:

• General respiratory therapy across all patient populations
• Ventilator management and airway support
• Neonatal and pediatric respiratory support (including NICU exposure)
• Responding to rapid response situations
• Supporting critical care units as needed
• Working with interdisciplinary teams including rapid response and respiratory services

Facility Overview:

• Large acute care hospital with approximately 564 beds
• Serves neonates through geriatrics
• Includes ICU-level and NICU respiratory care exposure
• Supports rapid response teams and multidisciplinary care model

Additional Requirements:

• 2 years of experience required minimum
• Travel experience preferred
• Must be comfortable with high-acuity hospital environment
• Floating may be required within respiratory services
