Radiology Tech
Location: Hackensack, New Jersey
Employment Type: Clinical-Allied
Shift: 8:00 AM – 8:30 PM
Hours per Day: 12
Hours per Week: 36
Contract Length: 7 weeks
Job Summary
The Radiologic Technologist is responsible for performing diagnostic radiographic examinations with minimal supervision. Key duties include:
- Positioning patients and selecting appropriate technical factors for imaging
- Operating radiographic equipment and restricting radiation exposure to unaffected areas
- Performing portable x-rays in various hospital settings (patient rooms, OR, ER)
- Identifying and marking patient films correctly
- Developing x-ray films using available processing methods
- Completing patient requisitions and maintaining orderly x-ray rooms
- Preparing and assisting with radiopaque contrast media administration
- Handling administrative tasks such as scheduling, patient instruction, and record maintenance
- Assisting patients with mobility related to imaging procedures
- Lifting at least 5 lbs., pushing/pulling 10 lbs., and standing for a minimum of 6 hours daily
- Adapting care to meet the needs of diverse patient populations, including communication adjustments
Required Qualifications
- Valid Radiology Technologist license in New Jersey
- Radiology Technologist with a minimum of 2 years of experience
- Radiology Technologist experience within the last year
- ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists) certification
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Experience working with pediatric patients
- Experience in an acute care setting
