Location: Cudahy, WI

Duration: 13 Weeks

Shift Details: 8hr Day Shift (40 hours/week) – Monday to Friday | 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM | Call required

Job Summary

The Interventional Radiology (IR) Technologist assists physicians in performing minimally invasive, image-guided procedures. This role requires strong technical skills, the ability to scrub and circulate, and experience handling a variety of IR procedures in a community hospital setting.

Facility Overview

• 100-bed community hospital
• Level IV Trauma Center
• Stroke Center
• Located 20 minutes from Milwaukee, WI

Department Overview

• 1 IR Suite and 1 Minor Procedure Room
• Average 5–8 patients per day
• Minimum 2 years IR experience required
• First-time travelers accepted

Key Responsibilities

• Assist in IR procedures including setup, scrubbing, and circulating
• Support physicians during interventions
• Prepare and maintain sterile field
• Assist with patient positioning and monitoring
• Document procedures in EMR (preferred)
• Collaborate with care team to ensure patient safety

Patient Population & Procedures

• Primarily older/adult population
• Procedures include nephrostomy tubes, port placements, biopsies, angiograms with interventions, PE thrombectomies, embolizations, kyphoplasty/vertebroplasty, paracentesis/thoracentesis
• No chemotherapy or neuro procedures

Required Qualifications

• ARRT Certification – Required
• Wisconsin State License – Required at submission
• BLS Certification – Required
• Minimum 2 years IR experience

Skills Required

• Experience with listed IR procedures
• Ability to scrub and pan simultaneously
• Strong procedural support skills
• Charting/coding experience (preferred but not required)

Technology & Equipment

• EMR: EPIC
• IV Pump: Alaris
• Medication Dispensing: Pyxis
• PACS: McKesson
• Equipment: Fluoro machine, ultrasound, Inari system

Floating Requirements

• Will float to CT to assist with procedures (no CT operation required)

Scheduling Details

• On-call required: Every 3 weeks for 1 week (Monday 4:00 PM – following Monday 7:00 AM)
• 45-minute response time
• Weekend rotation: Call only
• Holiday requirement: On call for up to 50% of holidays

Orientation

• NEO (New Employee Orientation)
• 2–3 unit orientation shifts
