Description

Job Title: Respiratory Therapist (CRT/RRT)

Location: Oklahoma

Duration: 13 Weeks

Shift Details: Varies (Full-time – 36–40 hours/week) | Shift timing to be discussed during interview

Job Summary

The Licensed Respiratory Therapist provides comprehensive respiratory care across critical and non-critical settings. This role involves assessing patient conditions, delivering therapeutic interventions, managing ventilators, and responding to emergencies while ensuring high-quality patient outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assess, implement, and evaluate respiratory care plans
  • Deliver care in both critical care (ICU/PICU) and non-critical settings
  • Administer respiratory therapies including nebulizers, inhalers, and oxygen therapy
  • Manage mechanical ventilation (invasive and non-invasive)
  • Monitor ventilator settings and patient response
  • Perform suctioning, intubation/extubation assistance, and bronchoscopy support
  • Document patient care accurately in EMR
  • Respond to Code Blue, RIT/CRIT calls, and patient transports
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary healthcare teams
  • Participate in quality improvement and staff education initiatives

Patient Population

  • Adult and pediatric patients
  • Critical care (ICU/PICU) and general respiratory cases

Required Qualifications

  • Graduate of an accredited Respiratory Care program
  • Oklahoma Respiratory Care Practitioner License (or temporary letter to practice)
  • CRT or RRT Certification (NBRC)
  • BLS Certification (AHA) – within 2 months of hire
  • Minimum 1 year of respiratory therapy experience

Skills Required

  • Mechanical ventilation management
  • Medication administration via respiratory routes
  • Chest physiotherapy and airway clearance techniques
  • Pulse oximetry and respiratory mechanics
  • Intubation/extubation assistance
  • Bronchoscopy assistance
  • Strong communication and clinical judgment

Preferred Skills

  • Experience in Adult ICU and Pediatric ICU (PICU)
  • Willingness to work across patient populations

Work Environment

  • Hospital-based setting with critical and non-critical care units
  • Exposure to high-acuity patients and emergency situations
