Travel Pharmacist – Hospital Setting
📍 Location: Lander, WY

Job Summary
The Pharmacist collaborates closely with the Director of Pharmacy to ensure safe, effective, and compliant medication use within the hospital. This role involves interpreting and dispensing medication orders, supervising pharmacy staff, supporting clinical initiatives, and ensuring adherence to regulatory and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Interpret, compound, and dispense medications per physician orders
- Review patient profiles to ensure safe and effective drug therapy
- Prevent drug interactions, therapeutic duplication, and adverse drug reactions
- Supervise and support Pharmacy Technicians and staff
- Maintain aseptic technique and oversee IV preparation and verification
- Ensure compliance with legal, regulatory, and hospital standards
- Participate in performance improvement and quality management programs
- Provide drug information and education to clinical staff and patients
- Monitor pharmacokinetics dosing and adjust therapy as needed
- Maintain accurate documentation, labeling, and reporting
- Prioritize STAT, NOW, and routine medication orders appropriately
- Ensure proper storage, handling, and security of medications, including controlled substances
Clinical Scope
- Adult and Geriatric patient populations
- Medication therapy management and dosing adjustments
- IV compounding and sterile product verification
Minimum Requirements
- Wyoming Board of Pharmacy License
- BLS Certification (AHA only – required)
- Minimum 1 year recent hospital pharmacy experience
- Strong knowledge of pharmacokinetics and clinical dosing
- Experience with IV preparation and aseptic techniques
Additional Skills
- Ability to process a minimum of 40 medication orders per 4-hour shift
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Excellent communication with medical and clinical staff
- Ability to multitask and prioritize workload efficiently
