Occupational Therapist – Acute Care (Local Candidates Only)

Location: Cumming, Georgia
Assignment Length: 13 Weeks
Shift: 8:30 AM – 4:30 PM (8-Hour Day Shift)
Schedule: 40 Guaranteed Hours per Week
Weekend Requirement: 4 weekends per 4 weeks
Holiday Requirement: Yes

Job Overview

We are currently seeking a licensed Occupational Therapist to join a busy Acute Care department supporting patients across the hospital. The therapist will work from physician orders to evaluate and treat patients with a wide range of medical and surgical diagnoses.

This role includes working with ICU, stroke/neurological, orthopedic, and general debility patients in a fast-paced hospital environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform occupational therapy evaluations and develop individualized treatment plans
• Provide therapeutic interventions for acute care patients across multiple units
• Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and interdisciplinary teams
• Document treatments and progress in Cerner (OneChart)
• Educate patients and families on therapy goals and discharge planning
• Maintain compliance with hospital policies and quality standards

Requirements

• Minimum 15–18 months of recent Occupational Therapy experience in specialty
• Active Georgia Occupational Therapist License
• AHA BLS Certification (Required)
• Acute care or hospital experience strongly preferred
• Experience with Cerner / OneChart preferred

Assignment Details

• 13-week contract
• 40 guaranteed hours per week
• Day shift schedule
• Weekend and holiday rotation required
• Local candidates only
