Description
Experience Required
- 2 years RN experience (mandatory)
- 1 year travel experience (required)
- Must have SICU / critical care background
🔹 Certifications
- Required: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS
- License: KY or Compact license (must be in hand)
🔹 Key Skills
- Ventilator care, ABGs, chest tubes
- Central lines, arterial lines, IV therapy
- Cardiac drips & vasoactive drips
- Stroke management
- CRRT/CVVHD
🔹 Unit Details
- Type: Surgical ICU (post-op heavy, especially vascular surgery)
- Patient Ratio: 1:2–3 (ICU), up to 1:4–5 (step-down)
- Common cases:
- AAA repair
- Carotid surgery
- Vascular & thoracic surgeries
🔹 Other Requirements
- Travel experience mandatory (no first-timers)
- Must float if needed
- Every other weekend required
- Must stay within 30 minutes of hospital
