Position Overview

We are seeking a licensed Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) for a contract assignment at its Muskogee Campus Hospital. This role provides comprehensive speech-language pathology services across acute care and rehabilitation settings, serving a diverse patient population across all age groups and diagnoses.

The ideal candidate has strong clinical skills in evaluation, treatment planning, and dysphagia management, with experience in both inpatient rehab and acute care environments.

Schedule & Assignment Details

• Shift: Monday–Friday, Days
• Hours: 8:00 AM – 5:30 PM
• Weekend Requirement: Possible rotating weekends
• On-Call: Not required
• Contract Duration: 13 weeks (Possible extension)

Key Responsibilities

• Provide speech-language pathology evaluations, screenings, and treatment services
• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans and therapy programs
• Conduct and document:
  • Diagnostic evaluations
  • Progress notes and daily treatment records
  • Discharge summaries and home exercise programs
• Treat a wide range of diagnoses across pediatric, adult, and geriatric populations
• Perform modified barium swallow studies (MBSS) and dysphagia assessments
• Ensure compliance with TJC, Medicare, and professional documentation standards
• Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and interdisciplinary care teams
• Provide education and training to hospital staff, patients, and families
• Participate in quality improvement and departmental initiatives
• Supervise and mentor students and clinical interns when assigned

Required Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Speech Language Pathology from an accredited program
• Active Oklahoma Speech Language Pathology License
• Minimum 0–6 months of experience (up to 1 year required/preferred by facility)
• Strong communication and patient education skills
• Basic computer proficiency for documentation and reporting

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in acute care and rehabilitation settings (minimum 1 year preferred by manager)
• Experience performing Modified Barium Swallow Studies (MBSS)
• Familiarity with Epic
• Experience working with interdisciplinary hospital teams

Clinical Environment

• Acute care + inpatient rehabilitation setting
• Mixed patient population (all ages and diagnoses)
• High collaboration with medical and therapy teams
• Focus on functional recovery and communication/swallowing outcomes

Dress Code
