Job Opportunity: X-Ray Tech

Location: Rochester, New York
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: Evening (Sunday–Thursday, 3:30 PM – 12:00 AM)
Hours per Week: 40 hours (5 days x 8 hours)
Weekend/On-Call: 1-2 weekend calls per month
Travel Radius: Locals accepted if residing more than 75 miles away
First-Time Travelers: Accepted

Job Description

• Specialty: Radiology / Cardiology (X-Ray Tech)
• Must have required license upon start
• Flex agency usage allowed up to 3 times during contract
• Charting experience with EPIC required

Required Qualifications

• Valid Radiology Technician license in New York
• Minimum 1 year of Radiology Technician experience within the last year
• Experience as an X-Ray Technician
• Certification: ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists)
• Certification: BLS (Basic Life Support, AHA provider/instructor/RQI acceptable)
• Experience with EPIC charting system

Background and Compliance Requirements

• 7-year criminal background check within 3 months of start (including felony, SSN trace, national criminal, sex offender, education verification)
• EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required within 3 months and updated monthly
• Foreign education equivalency evaluation if applicable
• Education verification from primary source required (no hard copy degrees)
• Drug screen within 30 days of start (includes amphetamines, cocaine, fentanyl, heroin, opiates, etc.)
• References: 2 references within 3 years (required for Aya candidates)
• Employment application and work history verification required

Health and Immunization Requirements

Candidates must complete health-related requirements and lab work within 5 days of signing the contract:

• Physical exam within 1 year of start (updated annually)
• Fit mask test within 1 year (Halyard duckbill 1870+, 1860 Regular, or 1860 Small)
• Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year (or TB questionnaire annually)
• Immunizations or positive titers required for:

  • Rubeola (Measles)
  • Mumps
  • Rubella
  • Hepatitis B (surface antibody positive titer, completed series, or declination)
  • Varicella
• Seasonal flu vaccination or signed declination required during flu season
• Snellen eye exam within 1 year (not required annually)
• COVID vaccination copy preferred but not required

Additional Requirements

• Orientation Safety Manual Acknowledgement required
• Medication/pharmacology competency exam as required by profession
• Color blindness testing required (not annual)
• Competency exams as required by specialty
• Photo for badge (passport-style with solid background) required
• Facility-specific pre-employment compliance attestations and new hire forms to be completed
• Parking pass form required for orientation
