Job Title: Registered Nurse (RN) – PACU:

Location: Ohio
Shift: Day Shift

Position Summary:

The Registered Nurse (RN) – PACU is responsible for delivering high-quality, patient-centered care in the Post-Anesthesia Care Unit. Utilizing evidence-based nursing practices and clinical judgment, the RN provides, coordinates, and delegates care to support patients’ recovery following surgical procedures. The role focuses on restoring, maintaining, and promoting optimal patient health while ensuring safety, comfort, and continuity of care.

Key Responsibilities:

Clinical Care

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to post-operative patients in the PACU
• Monitor patient status, vital signs, and response to anesthesia
• Perform patient assessments and implement appropriate nursing interventions
• Manage pain, airway support, and recovery needs

Care Coordination

• Collaborate with physicians, anesthesiologists, and multidisciplinary teams
• Communicate patient status and care plans effectively
• Ensure smooth patient transitions from PACU to appropriate care units

Documentation & Compliance

• Maintain accurate and timely documentation in Epic (must have recent experience within last 12 months)
• Adhere to hospital policies, regulatory standards, and patient safety guidelines
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives

Required Qualifications:

Education

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program (CCNE or ACEN accredited)

Licensure

• Active RN license in the State of Ohio

Experience

• Minimum 2+ years of recent PACU experience (required)
• Recent Epic EMR experience (within last 12 months) must be clearly listed on resume

Certifications

• Current BLS certification (required)
• ACLS required (upon hire or within 6 weeks if not current)
• Additional certifications may be required (PALS, NIHSS, etc. based on unit)

Work Requirements & Conditions

• Ability to lift/move patients (up to 50–100 lbs occasionally)
• Prolonged standing, walking, and physical activity
• Ability to work in high-stress, fast-paced clinical environments
• Exposure to communicable diseases, body fluids, and hazardous conditions
• Flexibility to work scheduled shifts and occasional irregular hours

• Maximum 7 days of RTO (Requests for Time Off) allowed
