Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) to join a high-performing respiratory care team for a 13-week contract assignment in Miles City, Montana. This role is ideal for a skilled respiratory professional with strong critical thinking abilities, a passion for patient care, and the ability to deliver advanced cardiopulmonary support across a variety of clinical settings.

The Respiratory Therapist will provide advanced-level respiratory care to patients requiring diagnostic evaluation, treatment, and management of cardiopulmonary conditions. This position also serves as a clinical resource to staff and supports quality improvement initiatives, patient education, and interdisciplinary collaboration.

Job Responsibilities

• Perform respiratory therapy assessments, treatments, and interventions in accordance with physician orders and departmental protocols
• Conduct, interpret, and evaluate diagnostic respiratory procedures
• Obtain arterial blood gases and assess cardiopulmonary function
• Initiate respiratory protocols and implement interventions based on patient assessment findings
• Administer respiratory medications safely and monitor patient response
• Monitor patient condition and communicate changes effectively with physicians, nurses, and interdisciplinary teams
• Provide patient and family education related to respiratory treatments, disease processes, and self-care techniques
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation in accordance with departmental and regulatory standards
• Troubleshoot and manage respiratory equipment to ensure safe and effective patient care
• Assist with quality improvement, patient safety initiatives, and departmental process enhancements
• Serve as a clinical resource and mentor to team members as needed

Requirements

• Graduate of an accredited NBRC-approved Respiratory Therapist program
• Current state Respiratory Therapy license required
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
• Strong respiratory therapy clinical experience
