Description
Job Title: Respiratory Therapist (RRT / CRT) – NICU (Level III)
Facility: Ochsner Health
Shift: Nights – 3x12s (6:45 PM – 7:15 AM)
Schedule: Every other weekend required
Unit Details
- Level III NICU
- 16-bed unit
- Neonatal patient population
- High-acuity respiratory care
Responsibilities
- Provide respiratory care to neonatal patients
- Manage ventilators and respiratory support equipment
- Assess and monitor patient respiratory status
- Collaborate with NICU team (RNs, physicians, specialists)
- Respond to emergency situations
- Maintain accurate documentation
Requirements
- Active RRT or CRT license (Compact or Louisiana)
- Minimum 2 years of NICU or critical care experience
- BLS, ACLS, NRP required
- CRT accepted in lieu of RRT
- Must have prior travel experience (no first-time travelers)
Important Notes
- No local travelers (must live 65+ miles away)
- No call-ins allowed
- RTO must be disclosed upfront and discussed during interview
- NURSYS/profile compliance required at submission
- Must be separated from Ochsner Health for 1 year if previously employed
Emergency Response Requirement
Travelers may be assigned to an Emergency Team, requiring them to remain onsite during emergency events or serve as relief staff. Additional compensation applies per event.

- COVID-19 vaccine required (medical/religious exemptions only)
- Flu vaccine required (medical/religious exemptions only)
- AHA certifications required (PDF format)
