JOB DESCRIPTION
Sheboygan - Resp Therapy Serv

● About Facility:
o 3400 Union Ave, Sheboygan, WI 53081
o 120 Licensed beds
o Level IV Trauma Center
o Level II NICU
o Primary Stroke Center
● General Information:
o Will you accept a traveler with 1-year experience? 1 year required.
o Will you accept a first-time traveler? YES
● # OF TREATMENT AREA:
o ICU (CCU) -stepdown/ICU combined
▪ 2-5 vents daily between ED and ICU
o Inpatient cardiac unit – no open hearts
o MS units
o Inpatient BH unit
o Floating throughout hospital
o Very Busy ED with high peds pop- transferred out (can board in ED if needed)
● Patient Types/Common Diagnoses:
o COVID, COPD, ETOH detox, Overdose patients, ARDS, Pneumonia, Influenza, CHF, Lung CA, Stroke, RSV, trach patients, trach patients on vent
● Patient Ratios:
o 1:1
● Required Licensure & Certifications:
o BLS, ACLS, PALS; NRP preferred
o Would highly prefer RRT but will accept CRT.
● Skills required:
o ABG punctures, Airway and ventilator management, Inhaled medications- MDI and nebulizer, Code blue, EKGs- up a 10 a shift – required
o Peds and NICU experience preferred but not required. If traveler does not have NRP, will not float to NICU/Peds. Possibility of floating to those areas if comfortable and have NRP.
● Support within the Department:
o 2 RTs during Nights
o Charge during every shift- possibly lighter assignment if able
o 3 RTs during Day
o RT educator
o Manager on site during day
● Technology/Equipment:
o EMR: EPIC
o Hamilton C1 – noninvasive, invasive, and Hiflow
o Airvo- Hiflow
o Servo-U for all vented patients
● Floating: If yes, where?
o Throughout the hospital to all units
● Orientation:
o 2/3 days up to a week depending on comfortability
● Scheduling:
o Weekend rotation: Every 3rd weekend
o On call? If so, what is that schedule? No call
o Holiday Expectations: 1 summer, 1 winter
o Approval of RTO: ok to approve up to 7 days
o Shift times: 0500-1700 or 1700-0500
o Schedule cycle: 8 weeks at a time, given 3 weeks in advance
● Other notes:
o Scrub Color: Any color as long as professional. Cartoons allowed. T-shirts allowed
o Parking: Free, onsite
