Title: Cardiac Cath Tech
Location: Charlotte North NC
Duration: 13 weeks
Shift: 10-hour day shifts (40 hours/week)
Hours: 7:30 AM – 6:00 PM
Facility Overview
- 337 licensed beds
- Chest Pain Center
- Certified Stroke Center
- Non-trauma facility
- Non-teaching hospital (no residents or students)
- Radius Rule: Traveler must live at least 50 miles from the facility
Department Overview
- Outpatient Interventional Cardiac Services
- Minimum Experience:
- 2+ years in Cardiac/Cath Lab (RN & Tech)
- First-Time Travelers: Accepted
Patient Population
- Chest pain
- Vascular conditions
- Ablations
- Pacemaker (PPM) cases
Required Certifications & Licensure
- RN:
- BLS
- ACLS
- Cath Lab Tech:
- BLS
- ACLS
- ARRT or RCIS
Required Skills
Cath Lab Technologist
- Experience with cardiac cath lab patient population
- Mandatory:
- IABP (Intra-Aortic Balloon Pump)
- Impella device experience (candidates without this will not be considered)
- Strong knowledge of:
- Aseptic technique
- Sheath pulling
- TR band placement/removal
- Line securement
- EKG/cardiac rhythm interpretation
RN (if applicable)
- Experience with cardiac/interventional patients
- EPIC EMR experience
- Required competencies:
- IABP & Impella
- EKG/cardiac rhythm interpretation
- Arterial line & CVP management
- Critical cardiac drips (gtts)
- Conscious sedation
- Transvenous & transcutaneous pacing
Technology & Equipment
- EMR: Epic
- Cath Lab Systems: Merge/Hemo
Department Support
- Dedicated department leadership
Scheduling & Shifts
- Shift: 10-hour day shifts (40 hours/week)
- Hours: 7:30 AM – 6:00 PM
On-Call Requirements
- Evening call: 1–2 shifts per week
- Weekend call: 1–2 weekends within an 8-week period
Holiday Requirements
- Travelers required to work 75% of holidays
Orientation
- New Employee Orientation (NEO)
- 3–4 days of department-specific orientation
