Description

Title: Cardiac Cath Tech
Location: Charlotte North NC
Duration: 13 weeks
Shift: 10-hour day shifts (40 hours/week)
Hours: 7:30 AM – 6:00 PM 

 

Facility Overview

  • 337 licensed beds
  • Chest Pain Center
  • Certified Stroke Center
  • Non-trauma facility
  • Non-teaching hospital (no residents or students)
  • Radius Rule: Traveler must live at least 50 miles from the facility

Department Overview

  • Outpatient Interventional Cardiac Services
  • Minimum Experience:
    • 2+ years in Cardiac/Cath Lab (RN & Tech)
  • First-Time Travelers: Accepted

Patient Population

  • Chest pain
  • Vascular conditions
  • Ablations
  • Pacemaker (PPM) cases

Required Certifications & Licensure

  • RN:
    • BLS
    • ACLS
  • Cath Lab Tech:
    • BLS
    • ACLS
    • ARRT or RCIS

Required Skills

Cath Lab Technologist

  • Experience with cardiac cath lab patient population
  • Mandatory:
    • IABP (Intra-Aortic Balloon Pump)
    • Impella device experience (candidates without this will not be considered)
  • Strong knowledge of:
    • Aseptic technique
    • Sheath pulling
    • TR band placement/removal
    • Line securement
    • EKG/cardiac rhythm interpretation

RN (if applicable)

  • Experience with cardiac/interventional patients
  • EPIC EMR experience
  • Required competencies:
    • IABP & Impella
    • EKG/cardiac rhythm interpretation
    • Arterial line & CVP management
    • Critical cardiac drips (gtts)
    • Conscious sedation
    • Transvenous & transcutaneous pacing

Technology & Equipment

  • EMR: Epic
  • Cath Lab Systems: Merge/Hemo

Department Support

  • Dedicated department leadership

Scheduling & Shifts

  • Shift: 10-hour day shifts (40 hours/week)
  • Hours: 7:30 AM – 6:00 PM

On-Call Requirements

  • Evening call: 1–2 shifts per week
  • Weekend call: 1–2 weekends within an 8-week period

Holiday Requirements

  • Travelers required to work 75% of holidays

Orientation

  • New Employee Orientation (NEO)
  • 3–4 days of department-specific orientation

Additional Details

  • Floating: Not required
  • Scrubs: Navy or green (provided)
  • Parking: Free
  • Clinical Interview Required: Yes
