Description
Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Nuclear Medicine Technologist to perform diagnostic nuclear medicine imaging procedures while ensuring patient safety, comfort, and high-quality care. The ideal candidate will be responsible for preparing and administering radioactive materials, operating imaging equipment, maintaining regulatory compliance, and supporting accurate diagnostic results.
Qualifications
- Graduation from an AMA-approved Nuclear Medicine program – Required
- Registered in Nuclear Medicine through:
- American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT), or
- Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB)
- Current BLS Certification
- Strong understanding of radiation safety protocols and patient care standards
Key Responsibilities
- Perform diagnostic nuclear medicine imaging procedures according to physician orders.
- Obtain patient history and explain procedures to ensure patient understanding, comfort, and cooperation.
- Prepare and administer radioactive isotopes and medications within scope of practice.
- Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot nuclear medicine imaging equipment.
- Capture high-quality diagnostic images for accurate interpretation by physicians.
- Follow radiation safety guidelines to minimize exposure to patients, staff, and self.
- Conduct quality assurance testing and equipment performance checks.
- Maintain accurate patient records, logs, documentation, and imaging reports.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory standards including federal, state, local, and accreditation requirements.
- Maintain adequate inventory of supplies and consumables required for testing and procedures.
- Perform daily, weekly, and periodic maintenance on imaging equipment.
- Assist other radiology departments as needed.
- Perform additional duties assigned by leadership.

Certifications Required
- American Registry of Radiologic Technologists Certification (Nuclear Medicine) or
- Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board Certification
- Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification
