Description

Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Nuclear Medicine Technologist to perform diagnostic nuclear medicine imaging procedures while ensuring patient safety, comfort, and high-quality care. The ideal candidate will be responsible for preparing and administering radioactive materials, operating imaging equipment, maintaining regulatory compliance, and supporting accurate diagnostic results.

Qualifications

  • Graduation from an AMA-approved Nuclear Medicine program – Required
  • Registered in Nuclear Medicine through:
    • American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT), or
    • Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB)
  • Current BLS Certification
  • Strong understanding of radiation safety protocols and patient care standards

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform diagnostic nuclear medicine imaging procedures according to physician orders.
  • Obtain patient history and explain procedures to ensure patient understanding, comfort, and cooperation.
  • Prepare and administer radioactive isotopes and medications within scope of practice.
  • Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot nuclear medicine imaging equipment.
  • Capture high-quality diagnostic images for accurate interpretation by physicians.
  • Follow radiation safety guidelines to minimize exposure to patients, staff, and self.
  • Conduct quality assurance testing and equipment performance checks.
  • Maintain accurate patient records, logs, documentation, and imaging reports.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory standards including federal, state, local, and accreditation requirements.
  • Maintain adequate inventory of supplies and consumables required for testing and procedures.
  • Perform daily, weekly, and periodic maintenance on imaging equipment.
  • Assist other radiology departments as needed.
  • Perform additional duties assigned by leadership.
