Schedule: Full-Time | Monday–Friday | 8:00 AM–4:30 PM
Job Overview
We are seeking a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW) to provide comprehensive clinical social work services to patients/clients and their families across inpatient, ambulatory, and community settings. This role includes individual, family, and group interventions, participation in multidisciplinary case conferences, and close collaboration with medical and community partners. Practice is guided by professional social work ethics and standards.
Minimum Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Social Work (MSW)
- Active Massachusetts LICSW license (required)
Duties and Responsibilities
- Conduct psychosocial and psychiatric assessments (DSM-5), identifying strengths, limitations, and functional levels
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans with appropriate clinical interventions
- Provide crisis intervention, including suicide/homicide risk, family violence, elder abuse, and child abuse
- Assess long-term care needs; evaluate home and family environments; assist with in-home care planning or alternative placements
- Provide individual, family, and group therapy, counseling, and psycho-education
- Support discharge planning to ensure continuity of care
- Provide referrals and resource coordination within hospital and community systems
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to integrate psychosocial factors into treatment and recovery
- Advocate for patients and families within healthcare, legal, educational, and community systems (may include court testimony)
- Provide short-term medical social services to caregivers when clinically necessary
- Maintain accurate, timely clinical documentation and administrative records
- Participate in program development, quality improvement initiatives, committees, and professional education activities
- Ensure compliance with regulatory standards (DPH, ERISA, HIPAA/HITECH)
Additional Responsibilities
- Participate in outreach, screening, and case-finding for high-risk psychosocial issues
- Engage in departmental meetings and represent social work services in hospital and community forums
- Support a collaborative, respectful, and patient-centered care environment
