Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) for a PACU / Pre-Op travel assignment in Santa Rosa, CA. This is a 13-week contract for a skilled PACU RN with strong inpatient acute PACU experience. The ideal candidate will be comfortable caring for post-anesthesia patients in a fast-paced acute care setting and supporting pre-op workflows as needed.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide safe, high-quality nursing care in PACU and Pre-Op settings
- Perform patient assessments before and after surgical procedures
- Monitor post-anesthesia recovery and manage acute changes in patient condition
- Assess and manage airway, pain, cardiac rhythm, and post-op complications
- Monitor and interpret cardiac rhythms and respond to dysrhythmias
- Manage arterial lines and support hemodynamic monitoring
- Deliver post-operative care for surgical patients recovering from anesthesia
- Collaborate with anesthesia, surgical teams, and interdisciplinary staff
- Provide patient and family education related to post-op recovery and discharge
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation
Required Qualifications
- Active RN license CA
- Minimum 2 years of recent inpatient acute PACU experience (Hard Stop)
- Prior travel experience required
- BLS
- ACLS
- PALS

- Average daily census: 25–30
- 8-bed unit
Note: First-time travelers not accepted
- California RN license required
- Pending license not accepted
- RTO: No more than 7 days
The ideal candidate is a confident PACU RN with strong acute inpatient recovery experience, excellent critical thinking skills, and the ability to work independently in a high-acuity post-anesthesia setting. Candidates must be flexible, clinically strong, and comfortable floating as needed.
