Job Type: 13-Week Contract + possible extensions
Start Date: ASAP
Shift: Day Shift (4x9.5 hours, 8:00 AM-4:30 PM)
Schedule: 4 days/week
Expected Hours: 38 hours per week
Pay range for local nurses:- $80/hour - $87/hour
Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced Wound Care Registered Nurse (RN) to provide specialized care for patients with wounds, ostomies, and continence-related conditions. The ideal candidate will conduct comprehensive assessments, develop individualized care plans, and collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct health assessments and focused physical examinations related to wound, ostomy, and continence care
- Develop and implement individualized care plans based on patient needs and diagnoses
- Assess, monitor, and document patient response to wound care treatments and therapies
- Provide care for complex wounds, fistulas, ostomies, and continence issues
- Recommend appropriate treatments, medications, and interventions
- Educate patients, families, and staff on wound care management and prevention strategies
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives, including incidence and prevalence studies
- Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary teams for coordinated patient care
- Assist in developing standards of care and selecting appropriate supplies and equipment
- Identify patients at risk for pressure injuries and initiate preventative measures
- Ensure compliance with data security, confidentiality, and patient rights policies
- Support staff training, orientation, and continuing education programs
Required Qualifications
- Active New York State RN License
- BLS Certification (AHA)
- Minimum 2 years of RN experience in wound care and ostomy care
Certifications (One Required):
- CWOCN / CWON / CWCN – WOCNCB
- CWS – American Board of Wound Management
- WCC – National Alliance of Wound Care and Ostomy
