Surgical Technologist – General Surgery – Full-Time – Acute Care – Peoria, IL
Direct Hire | Full-Time | Sign-On Bonus
A healthcare facility is seeking an experienced Surgical Technologist for a full-time, direct hire opportunity in an acute care setting. This role focuses on general surgery cases and requires strong multi-specialty experience, including robotics.
POSITION OVERVIEW
- Direct hire, full-time position
- Acute care hospital setting
- General surgery focus with multi-specialty exposure
- Operating room environment with team support
- EMR system: EPIC OpTime
SCHEDULE & SHIFT DETAILS
- Full-time schedule
- All shift lengths available (days, mids, evenings, nights)
- Every third weekend required (full weekend with assigned call shift)
- Holiday call rotation required
- Call response time: 30 minutes
- Weekend shift differential: $2.50

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Scrub and assist in general surgery procedures
- Maintain sterile field and adhere to all OR safety protocols
- Prepare and manage surgical instruments and equipment
- Support surgeons and surgical team during procedures
- Assist in robotic (DaVinci) surgical cases
- Float to assist other surgical teams or SPD if qualified
JOB REQUIREMENTS
Experience & Skills
- Minimum 2 years of hospital surgical technologist experience required
- Candidates with 1.5+ years in a Level I trauma center considered
- Must have experience in:
- General surgery
- Urology
- Gynecology
- ENT
- DaVinci robotics experience required (must be fully independent)
- Scrubbing experience required
- Level I trauma experience required for mid, evening, and night shift candidates
- Ability to work in a fast-paced surgical environment
License & Certification
- Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technologist program required
- BLS certification required
CASE MIX / PROCEDURES
- Laparoscopic cholecystectomy (lap chole)
- Laparoscopic colon procedures
- Appendectomy (lap appy)
- Cystoscopy
- DaVinci robotic cases
- Hysterectomy
- Vascular procedures
- ENT procedures
- Urology procedures
UNIT & FACILITY DETAILS
- 14 dedicated general surgery suites (29 total OR suites)
- Charge nurse available for case support
- OR tech support present
- High-volume environment: 20–40 general surgery cases per day
FLOATING REQUIREMENTS
- May float to assist other OR teams or SPD if qualified
