Job Title: Registered Nurse
Unit: GI Lab
Location: Columbia, MO 65212
Shift: Day (06:30 - 17:00)
Shift Length: 4x10-Hour
Guaranteed Hours: 40 hours per week
Duration: 13 weeks
Position Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) – Endoscopy with Pre/Post experience in both Standard and Advanced procedure rooms. The RN will provide patient care before and after endoscopic procedures, including ERCP and EUS, ensuring patient safety and comfort. Responsibilities include monitoring patient status, assisting during procedures, and maintaining accurate documentation. Candidates must have at least 1 year of acute care experience and hold active BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications through AHA.
Roles & Responsibilities:
- Perform pre- and post-procedure assessments, preparing patients for endoscopic procedures and monitoring recovery
- Assist physicians during standard and advanced procedures, including ERCP and EUS
- Monitor vital signs, sedation levels, and patient responses throughout procedures
- Administer medications, IV therapy, and conscious sedation as per protocol
- Educate patients and families on procedure preparation, recovery, and discharge instructions
- Maintain accurate documentation and ensure compliance with safety and infection control standards.
Skills:
- Strong pre- and post-procedure patient assessment and monitoring skills
- Expertise in assisting with endoscopic procedures, including ERCP and EUS
- Proficiency in sedation management, IV therapy, and medication administration
- Knowledge of infection control, patient safety, and procedural protocols
- Effective patient education and communication skills
- Accurate documentation and ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced acute care environment
Documents Required:
- Valid MO State RN license
- PALS Certified through AHA
- ACLS Certified through AHA
- BLS Certified through AHA
- COVID card
