Description

Job Title: Registered Nurse – Medical-Surgical Oncology

Location: Augusta, GA - 30901

Schedule: Night Shift | 3x12-Hour (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM) | Every Other Weekend
Start Dates: 05/25, 06/01

Contract Duration: 13 weeks (with possible extension)

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse specializing in Medical Surgical Oncology to provide high-quality patient care in an inpatient oncology setting. The ideal candidate will have strong clinical expertise in oncology care, chemotherapy administration, and managing complex patient conditions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide direct patient care to oncology and hematology patients
  • Administer chemotherapy, blood products, and IV therapies
  • Monitor and manage patients undergoing cancer treatments
  • Maintain and manage central lines, ports, and infusion systems
  • Implement neutropenic precautions and infection control protocols
  • Handle oncologic emergencies and end-of-life care (DNR/CC)
  • Operate specialized equipment such as PCA pumps, CADD pumps, and infusion devices
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including pharmacy, respiratory, and physical therapy
  • Document patient care accurately using Epic EMR system
  • Float within facility as required

Qualifications

  • Active RN license (GA or Compact required at submission)
  • Minimum 2 years of RN experience (Oncology required)
  • BLS certification (Required)
  • OCN certification (Required)
  • Experience with chemotherapy administration and oncology care
  • Strong experience with patient ratios of 1:6
  • Familiarity with Epic charting system
  • Ability to work night shifts and Every other weekend.
