Job Title: Registered Nurse – Medical-Surgical Oncology
Location: Augusta, GA - 30901
Schedule: Night Shift | 3x12-Hour (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM) | Every Other Weekend
Start Dates: 05/25, 06/01
Contract Duration: 13 weeks (with possible extension)
Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse specializing in Medical Surgical Oncology to provide high-quality patient care in an inpatient oncology setting. The ideal candidate will have strong clinical expertise in oncology care, chemotherapy administration, and managing complex patient conditions.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care to oncology and hematology patients
- Administer chemotherapy, blood products, and IV therapies
- Monitor and manage patients undergoing cancer treatments
- Maintain and manage central lines, ports, and infusion systems
- Implement neutropenic precautions and infection control protocols
- Handle oncologic emergencies and end-of-life care (DNR/CC)
- Operate specialized equipment such as PCA pumps, CADD pumps, and infusion devices
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including pharmacy, respiratory, and physical therapy
- Document patient care accurately using Epic EMR system
- Float within facility as required
Qualifications
- Active RN license (GA or Compact required at submission)
- Minimum 2 years of RN experience (Oncology required)
- BLS certification (Required)
- OCN certification (Required)
- Experience with chemotherapy administration and oncology care
- Strong experience with patient ratios of 1:6
- Familiarity with Epic charting system
- Ability to work night shifts and Every other weekend.
