Shift: Day Shift (7:00 AM – 7:30 PM, 3x12-hour shifts)

Position Summary

The PACU Registered Nurse (RN) provides high-quality, patient-centered care in the Post-Anesthesia Care Unit. Utilizing clinical judgment and evidence-based practice, the RN is responsible for monitoring patients recovering from anesthesia, ensuring patient safety, and coordinating care to promote optimal outcomes.
 

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver comprehensive nursing care to patients in the PACU setting
• Monitor post-operative patients and respond to changes in condition
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure continuity of care
• Educate patients and families regarding post-procedure recovery
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation using EPIC system
• Adhere to hospital policies, safety standards, and infection control protocols

Education Requirements

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program (ACEN or CCNE)
• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of Ohio

Experience Requirements

• Minimum 2+ years of recent PACU experience
• At least 1 year of phlebotomy experience
• Recent EPIC experience (within the last 12 months) – must be clearly listed on resume

Certifications Required

• Basic Life Support (BLS) – Required
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) – Required (must be active or obtained within 6 weeks of hire)
• Additional certifications may be required (e.g., PALS, NIH, etc.) based on unit needs
