DESCRIPTION:

Job Title: Registered Nurse (RN) – Perioperative / PACU / Pre-Post

Location: Petaluma, CA 94954
Shift: Day Shift – 5x8 Hours (08:00 AM – 4:30 PM)

Clinical Skills & Procedures

Vascular & IV Skills

• IV insertion and maintenance
• PICC line care and port access
• Phlebotomy and blood product administration

Respiratory & Critical Care

• Airway assessment and ventilator management
• Chest tube care and end-tidal CO₂ monitoring
• Care of fresh tracheostomies and intubated patients

Cardiac Monitoring

• Dysrhythmia recognition and management
• Emergency medication administration
• Arterial line management (preferred)

Specialty Surgical Support

• Assist in care for procedures including:
  • General, laparoscopic, and endoscopic surgeries
  • Orthopedic (total joints, spine, ORIF)
  • Plastics (abdominoplasty, breast augmentation)
  • Gynecological (hysterectomy, tubal ligation)
  • Ophthalmology (cataracts, trauma)
  • Urology, podiatry, and vascular (preferred)

Pre/Post Operative Responsibilities

• Obtain and verify procedural consents and history & physicals
• Conduct pre-op education and medication reconciliation
• Perform EKGs/ECGs and lab coordination
• Manage pain control, PCA pumps, and sedation scales (RASS)
• Provide wound care, including wound vac management
• Support endoscopy procedures and recovery

Specialized Knowledge Areas

• Stroke scale and hypothermia protocols
• Insulin and endocrine management protocols
• Malignant hyperthermia response
• Infection control and PPE compliance
• Pediatric patient care (preferred)

Certifications

• Required:
  • BLS (Basic Life Support)
  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)
• Preferred:
  • PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)
