Job Title: Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) – Outpatient

Location: Medford, Oregon
Facility: Providence Medford Medical Center
Contract Length: 13 Weeks

Schedule

Shift: Day Shift
Hours: 5x8s (08:00 AM - 3:00 PM)
Weekend Requirement: None
On-Call: None

Position Overview

Providence Medford Medical Center is seeking a Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) for an outpatient orthopedic setting. The PTA will work under the supervision of a Physical Therapist to provide therapeutic interventions aimed at improving patient mobility, strength, and overall function.

This role primarily treats adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients with orthopedic conditions.

Key Responsibilities

Assist in implementing treatment plans developed by the Physical Therapist
Provide therapeutic exercises and modalities (e.g., ultrasound, E-stim, TENS, heat/cold therapy)
Perform gait training, mobility exercises, and patient transfers
Educate patients on home exercise programs
Monitor patient progress and document outcomes accurately (Epic preferred)
Maintain a safe and efficient clinical environment

Required Qualifications

Minimum 1 year of PTA experience
Oregon PTA License (can be pending at time of submission)
BLS Certification
Experience in outpatient orthopedic settings

Preferred Skills

Experience treating:
- Low back pain, sciatica, and spinal conditions
- Joint replacements (hip/knee)
- Post-operative orthopedic cases
- Arthritis and musculoskeletal disorders
Familiarity with:
- Manual therapy and mobilization techniques
- Modalities (TENS, ultrasound, traction)
- Epic EMR system
