Description
Unit Overview
- 39-bed ICU consisting of MICU, SICU, CICU, and TICU
- One large ICU divided into pods
- Floating to CVICU side only if traveler has prior experience in that specialty
Patient Population
High-acuity ICU patients including:
- Medical, surgical, cardiac (preferred), neuro, and trauma
- Heavy trauma population
- Diagnoses include ARDS, MI, CVA/TIA, COVID, post–cardiac cath, post-surgical, and multi-system trauma
- Cardiac experience preferred (CABG/TAVR 24–48 hrs post-op helpful but not required)
- Fresh open hearts only accepted if traveler is highly experienced and approved by leadership
Minimum Experience Requirements
- 2 years of ICU experience (excluding travel) strongly preferred
- 1.5 years ICU (excluding travel) + strong RN background outside ICU may be submitted for leadership approval
First-time travelers NOT accepted (minimum of 1 prior travel assignment required)
Required Certifications & Licensure
- Active South Dakota RN license
- BLS, ACLS, NIHSS, TNCC (REQUIRED)
