Requirements

Experience

Minimum 2 years of recent experience as a Licensed Mammography Technologist (required)

Education

High school diploma or equivalent
Graduate of an AMA-approved School of Radiologic Technology

Certifications & Licensure

ARRT (required)
Active Diagnostic Radiography License
Mammography certification (must be obtained within the first 3 months if not already held)

Skills

Strong knowledge of mammography imaging and breast procedures
Excellent patient communication and documentation skills
Ability to work independently in a fast-paced breast center environment

Key Responsibilities Perform screening and diagnostic mammography exams for adult, adolescent, and geriatric patients Assist with breast ultrasound, stereotactic biopsy, and breast localization procedures Perform mammographic imaging for needle localization and stereotactic procedures (including setup and cleanup) Assist with ultrasound-guided procedures Ensure proper patient positioning, immobilization, and selection of technical factors Accurately label and document imaging studies and patient records Participate in and document quality control and quality assurance activities Assist with patient education, including pre- and post-procedure instructions and BSE education Prepare cases for imaging and assist with compiling breast center statistics and follow-ups Communicate effectively with patients and caregivers, adapting care to age, culture, language, and special needs Adhere to organizational competencies and professional standards
