Position Summary:
The Medical Surgical Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible for providing comprehensive nursing care to patients in a medical-surgical unit. This role includes assessing patient conditions, administering treatments, coordinating care plans, and ensuring high-quality patient outcomes in a fast-paced hospital environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide direct patient care in a medical-surgical setting
• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care plans
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed
• Monitor patient progress and report changes in condition
• Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary teams
• Maintain accurate and timely patient documentation using Cerner
• Educate patients and families on treatment plans and care instructions
• Adhere to hospital policies, procedures, and safety standards
• Float to other units as required based on staffing needs
• Participate in on-call rotation as assigned

Required Qualifications:

• License: Active Illinois Registered Nurse (RN) License required
• Certification: Registered Nurse (RN) required
• Experience: Medical Surgical nursing experience required
• Charting System: Experience with Cerner preferred
• Availability: Must be able to work night shifts and flexible scheduling

Additional Requirements:

• Must be comfortable working in a fast-paced hospital environment
• Must be open to floating between units as needed
• Must be reliable and able to commit to full assignment duration
• Strong clinical judgment and critical thinking skills
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
