Unit: Pre-Op/DaySurg/Phase 2 Recovery (786)

Classification: RN-PACU

Shift Detail:  M-F 1200 – 2030 Variable/Flexible

  • Patient Ratios : Pre-op 1:1; Short Stay  (Phase II) 3:1 RN
  • Unit Staffing Description: Unit Secretary nurses, PCA, Phlebotomist
  • Type of Equipment: Meditech, Hobilab
  • Documentation system: Meditech
  • Scheduling requirements: M-F 1200 – 2030 Variable/Flexible
  • Floating policy: None

 

Hospital Specifics:

 

  • Certification: BLS, ACLS, PALS

 

Hiring profile

Requested Skill Set:

 

Must have: (candidates without these skills will not be considered for the role)

 

  • Pre-op and Phase II Surgical Discharge
  • BLS
  • ACLS
  • PALS
  • 2+ Years of Hosp/Travel Exp.

 

Preferred Skills/Advanced Skills Needed: (candidates with these skills will be considered first)

 

  • PACU EXPERIENCE
  • IV Skills
  • Meditech Experience Preferred

 

Specialty/Unit Certifications Required: (RN)

 

  • Active TX RN License – Temp license are no longer accepted

 

Procedures performed on unit:

 

  • Pain Blocks with Anesthesia

 

Dress Code: Include requirements, but most of all not acceptable attire.

  • Scrub Color
  • RN: Scrubs provided by the facility
  • Nail Policy – Clean and Healthy
  • Hair - hair should be neat and clean with no extreme styles or colors. Beards, mustaches and sideburns should be clean and neatly trimmed
  • Tattoos – Body art should be covered whenever possible. Body art that is not feasible to cover on a daily basis will be addressed individually
  • Piercings – Visible piercings other than ears, is prohibited
