Details of Assignment:

It is highly preferable that the pharmacist has working knowledge of sterile compounding services. This pharmacy does IV infusions daily. We also dispense CADD infusion pumps with the infusions. These are fairly simple to learn how to program. However, if the candidate has experience with any pumps and infusions, that would be ideal. The shift is Monday - Friday 10am-6pm. There is a PRN pharmacist scheduled 1 day weekly. Therefore, you could be scheduled 4-5 days weekly. Accept and dispense prescription medications. Monitor patient medication compliance and over-usage patterns. Ensuring that the supply of medicines is within the law. Ensuring that the medicines prescribed to patients are suitable. Accurately maintain confidential records of all patients ensure proper management of patient records and pharmacy files. Advising patients about medicines, including how to take them, what reactions may occur and answering patients' questions. Provide consultation on prescription and non-prescription medications for storage, dosage, side effects, and drug interactions. Provide services to patients, such as smoking cessation, blood pressure measurement and cholesterol management. Educate patients on proper handling of medical devices such as blood pressure monitor and glucose meters. Compound medications for external or internal use. Prepare sterile solutions following proper procedures. Supervise pharmacy staff members including pharmacy technicians, pharmacy clerks, etc. Maintain appropriate inventory on pharmaceutical and medical supplies. Identify patient's drug-related problems and effectively communicate with physicians and other healthcare practitioners. Work in conjunction with physicians, nurses, other pharmacists, pharmacy interns, etc. Doctor of Pharmacy degree required. Licensed by the state pharmacy board.
