Description
Job Title-Sonographer - Maternal Fetal Medicine (OB/GYN)
Location- Greater Milwaukee, WI
Full-Time | 8hr Day Shift (40 hours/week)
Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM. No weekends, no call, no holidays.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform basic to advanced obstetric diagnostic ultrasound imaging and procedures, including first trimester, nuchal translucency, anatomy scans, growth assessments, dopplers, biophysical profiles, basic fetal echocardiography, transvaginal ultrasound, portable imaging, amniocentesis, and chorionic villi sampling (CVS).
- Select appropriate transducers and technical factors (e.g., doppler, color imaging, M-mode, real-time) for accurate exams; apply non-standard techniques with independent judgment.
- Review medical records for patient history, lab results, and physician orders; communicate with patients to gather history data.
- Calibrate, adjust, and maintain ultrasound equipment; evaluate new products and report failures to biomedical department and leadership.
- Participate in quality assurance studies; document exams, billing codes, and procedures for accurate patient charges.
- Assist in clinical instruction for sonography students, OB/GYN residents, and medical students.
- Position and transport patients safely, using proper lifting and pushing/pulling techniques.
- Demonstrate knowledge of age-specific care principles across the life span, assessing patient status to meet departmental standards.
Required Qualifications:
- Licensure/Certification: RDMS registration with OB/GYN specialty issued by ARDMS; BLS for Healthcare Providers (AHA).
- Minimum 1 year sonographer experience in Maternal Fetal Medicine.
- Advanced knowledge of fetal abnormalities and diagnosis.
- Proficient in scanning anatomical areas, identifying cross-sectional anatomy, and distinguishing normal from abnormal findings.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and patient service skills.
- Basic computer skills (email, electronic medical records).

- Patient Service Area: Greater Milwaukee.
