CVOR Tech - Surgical Services

Location: Spokane, Washington
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Job Details

  • Shift: Day shift, 4 days per week, 10 hours per day (6:00 AM - 4:00 PM)
  • Patient ratio: 1:1
  • On-call required: Yes, 1 weekend every 6 weeks (on-call only)
  • Floating between units: No
  • Block schedules: Not required
  • Facility type: Short Term Acute Care, Level II Trauma Center, Level II Pediatric Trauma Center
  • Charting system: Epic

Required Qualifications

  • Valid CVOR Technologist license in Washington
  • Minimum of 1 year of CVOR Technologist experience
  • CVOR Technologist experience within the last year
  • Recent cardiac surgical experience

Certifications & Competencies

  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
  • Basic Life Support (BLS)
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)
  • Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP)
  • Chemotherapy certification (if applicable)
  • Electronic Fetal Monitoring (EFM) certification (if applicable)
  • IV Certification (if applicable)
  • Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI) certification (if applicable)
  • NIH Stroke Certification (if applicable)
  • Medication/Pharmacology competency exam as applicable
  • Color Blind Testing if required by unit

Health & Safety Requirements

  • Physical exam within 1 year of start, signed by MD, NP, PA, or DO
  • Fit mask test (annual, travel only)
  • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap vaccine within 10 years or declination
  • Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 12 months, updated annually
  • MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) vaccination or positive titer, or declination
  • Hepatitis B vaccination series or signed declination
  • Varicella vaccination or positive titer, or declination
  • Seasonal flu vaccination or declination during flu season
  • COVID-19 vaccination record preferred; declinations accepted with adherence to masking policies
  • 9 Panel Drug Screen within 12 months of start
  • Drug Screen Attestation if instant drug screen used
  • Respiratory Safety Clearance (annual for travel)

Background & Documentation

  • Government-issued photo ID (Driver’s License or State ID)
  • Social Security Card (as applicable)
  • E-Verify attestation required
  • Background check within 90 days covering all locations lived/worked in past 7 years, updated annually
  • State-specific searches including Washington State Patrol and OBRA Registry (for CNAs only)
  • Education verification and transcript/diploma as applicable
  • Employment application covering at least last 5 years (7 years for APN/Subcontractors)
  • Minimum of 2 professional references covering 1 year of employment in a comparable specialty/setting
  • Skills checklist updated annually (if applicable)

Facility & Regional Requirements

  • Completion of required WorkRamp modules including:
    • Annual regulatory requirements
    • Specialty-specific modules for surgical techs
    • Basics of Trauma Informed Care (required at this facility)
  • Badge photo (passport style with neutral background) required
  • Epic training modules completion required within orientation period
  • Float policy acknowledgement (may be required to float to nearby facilities)

  • No 48-hour shifts approved
  • Parking is free at the facility
  • Teaching hospital environment
  • First-time travelers are encouraged to apply if they meet all requirements and highlight their status in submissions
