Registered Nurse - Med/Oncology Unit (Night Shift) - Florida
Position Details
- Specialty: Registered Nurse (Med/Oncology)
- Location: Jupiter, Florida
- Employment Type: Travel/Contract
- Shift: Night, 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each (7:00 PM - 7:00 AM)
- Contract Length: 13 weeks
- Unit Type: Inpatient Med/Oncology (includes both chemotherapy and non-chemotherapy patients)
- Electronic Health Record: EPIC preferred
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Florida
- Minimum 2 years of oncology nursing experience, with oncology experience within the last year
- ACLS certification
- BLS certification issued by American Heart Association
- NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification
- Oncology Nursing Society (ONS) or Oncology Nursing Certification Corporation (ONCC) certification
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
Certifications & Competencies
- Medication/Pharmacology competency exam (minimum 80% or meet Angoff score)
- Dysrhythmia/EKG competency exam (required for all RNs)
- Physical exam within 6-12 months of start
- Drug screening: 9 or 10 panel drug screen within 1 year (instant acceptable)
- Immunizations and titers as per facility policy, including:
- COVID-19 vaccination (full vaccination required; exemptions accepted)
- Flu vaccine or declination (required year-round)
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap within 10 years
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year
- Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella immunity verification (titer, vaccination, or declination)
- Hepatitis B immunity or declination
Background and Compliance Requirements
- Standard background check with 7-year history and sex offender registry
- Annual EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks
- Florida AHCA Level II fingerprint clearance required prior to start (Livescan electronic fingerprinting; clearance can take up to 10 days)
- Emergency contact form required before start
- Facility-specific onboarding modules completed during first week
Additional Information
- Night shift schedule: 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each
- Must be chemo certified to ensure coverage for chemotherapy patients admitted to the unit
- Facility parking registration form required
- Prior travel experience is not explicitly required for this position
