Description

Travel Surgical Technologist – CVOR

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Surgical Technologist (CVOR) with strong open heart surgery experience to support a high-volume surgical team. Candidates must be flexible and comfortable working across multiple service lines in addition to cardiovascular cases.

Assignment Details

Shift: Days – 5x8-hour shifts (06:30 AM – 2:30 PM)
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Call Requirement:
- 1 day per week
- Every 5th weekend (Friday 3:00 PM – Monday 7:00 AM)

Will float between: Yes

Key Responsibilities
Assist in open heart (CVOR) surgical procedures
Maintain sterile field and prepare operating room
Handle surgical instruments and supplies efficiently
Collaborate with surgeons, RNs, and anesthesia teams
Float and assist across multiple surgical specialties as needed

Required Experience & Skills
Mandatory: Open heart surgery experience
Must be flexible to work across service lines including:
- General surgery
- GYN
- Vascular
- Urology
- Podiatry
- Orthopedics
- Spine
  
  Qualifications
- Education:
  - High School Diploma or GED (required)
  - Surgical Technology training from:
    - Accredited civilian or military program, OR
    - Associate Degree in Surgical Technology, OR
    - 10+ years of Surgical Technologist experience
- Certification:
  - CPR (required)
  - CST (preferred) – via CAAHEP program
  - OR certification via NCCT or military program accepted
