Description
Job Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented Medication Authorization Specialist to support prior authorizations and medication processing, including GLP-1 weight loss medications. This is a hybrid role requiring both remote work and occasional onsite presence in Rancho Bernardo.
Key Responsibilities:
- Process medication prior authorizations, including GLP-1 weight loss medications
- Review and verify patient and prescription information for accuracy
- Coordinate with providers, pharmacies, and insurance companies
- Ensure timely approvals and follow-ups on authorization requests
- Maintain accurate documentation and records
- Adhere to compliance and workflow guidelines
Requirements:
- Required Certifications: CHPT, TCH
- Experience in medication authorizations (must-have)
- Experience handling GLP-1 weight loss medications (must-have)
- Some travel experience required (less than 1 year acceptable)
- Must be a local candidate (in-state only)
- Strong attention to detail and communication skills
Technical Requirements:
- Must have own computer for telework
- Reliable internet connection and power backup
- Ability to install and use Citrix Workspace (Mac or Windows)
Work Setup:
- Hybrid role (remote + occasional onsite at central office in Rancho Bernardo)
