🧼 Sterile Processing Technician (CST/SPD) – Contract to Hire
Facility: Instrumentum LLC
Location: Elmhurst, IL
Shift: 2nd Shift | 3:00 PM – 11:30 PM
Hours: 40 hours/week guaranteed
Duration: 13 Weeks → Contract to Permanent

🩺 Position Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented Sterile Processing Technician responsible for the decontamination, assembly, sterilization, and tracking of surgical instruments. This role ensures all instruments meet strict safety, quality, and infection control standards.
🔧 Key Responsibilities
- Decontaminate, clean, and sterilize surgical instruments and equipment
- Assemble and package instrument trays according to standards
- Operate washers, autoclaves, and sterilization equipment
- Inspect instruments for cleanliness, functionality, and damage
- Track instruments and document sterilization cycles accurately
- Maintain inventory levels and report missing/damaged items
- Follow all ANSI/AAMI standards and IFUs
- Keep work areas clean, organized, and compliant
- Communicate with operations and distribution teams
🎯 Requirements
- Minimum 1 year of sterile processing experience
- Knowledge of:
- Decontamination, assembly, and sterilization processes
- Surgical instruments and trays
- Infection control practices
- Experience with sterilization equipment (autoclaves, washers)
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow SOPs
- Basic computer skills for tracking and documentation

- CRCST or equivalent required

- High school diploma or equivalent
