🩺 Medical Assistant (CMA/RMA) – Float Role | Outpatient Clinics

Location: Thurston & Lewis Counties, WA
(Lacey, Olympia, Centralia, Chehalis)
Shift: Days | 5x8s
Start Date: 6/1/26
Duration: 13 Weeks
Locals Only: Yes (must have reliable transportation)

🩺 Position Overview

We are seeking a flexible and dependable Medical Assistant for a floating outpatient role supporting multiple primary care clinics. This position requires strong clinical and administrative skills, with the ability to adapt to different clinic environments.

🔄 Float Details (IMPORTANT)

  • Must float between:
    • Lacey & Olympia (Thurston County)
    • Centralia & Chehalis (Lewis County)
  • Travel required within assigned region
  • Must have reliable transportation

🔧 Key Responsibilities

  • Room patients and obtain vitals
  • Document medical history, medications, and allergies
  • Manage patient communication (calls, MyChart, in-basket)
  • Perform in-basket management and call intake
  • Support scheduling, follow-ups, and refill requests
  • Assist with insurance verification and authorizations
  • Maintain accurate, clear EMR documentation

🧠 Required Experience & Skills

  • Minimum 6 months Medical Assistant experience
  • Epic EMR experience (REQUIRED)
  • In-basket management / call intake experience (REQUIRED)
  • Adult outpatient / primary care experience
  • Strong knowledge of medical terminology
  • Experience with:
    • Telephone triage
    • Patient follow-ups
    • Pharmacy calls and refill requests

🎯 Certifications

  • MA-R (Medical Assistant Registered – WA) REQUIRED
  • CMA or RMA REQUIRED
  • BLS (required)

📅 Schedule & Details

  • No weekends
  • No on-call
  • Float required within region
  • 40-hour orientation (non-billable)
  • One pre-approved RTO request allowed

  • Outpatient primary care clinics
  • Patient population: All ages (neonate → geriatric)
  • Charting system: Epic
