Job Title: Surgical Technician – Operating Room
Location: Lafayette, LA
Duration: 13 weeks
Shift: Day Shift, 10 Hours (6:30 AM – 5:00 PM)

Job Description:
Seeking an experienced Surgical Technician for an urgent replacement role in the Operating Room. This position supports surgical procedures by assisting physicians and nursing staff, ensuring proper handling of instruments, and maintaining a sterile and efficient surgical environment.

Responsibilities:
Assist surgeons and RN during surgical procedures
Prepare and maintain sterile field and surgical instruments
Ensure proper handling, cleaning, and disinfection of equipment, including endoscopes
Support daily operations of the OR department
Maintain adequate stock of surgical supplies and equipment
Adapt to changing surgical needs and patient care priorities
Follow all safety, infection control, and compliance protocols

Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent required
Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technology program
Minimum 2 years of experience in a similar clinical setting
Certification in Surgical Technology (online certifications not accepted)
Current BLS certification (AHA) required

Skills:
Strong organizational and time management skills
Ability to work independently and demonstrate sound judgment
Solid clinical and technical competency in surgical procedures

Additional Information:
Exposure to blood, body fluids, and infectious materials expected
Physically demanding role requiring lifting, standing, and movement of equipment
Urgent fill due to early contract termination
