🧼 Sterile Processing Technician (SPD) – Day Shift | Travel Contract
Location: Mason, OH
Shift: Days | 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM (Mon–Fri)
Duration: 13 Weeks
Start Date: ASAP

💰 Compensation
- Competitive weekly pay (based on experience)

🩺 Position Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented Sterile Processing Technician to support surgical operations by ensuring all instruments and equipment are properly decontaminated, assembled, sterilized, and tracked in a timely and compliant manner.
🔧 Key Responsibilities
Sterilization
- Prepare, wrap, and sterilize instruments using:
- Steam
- Sterrad
- V-Pro
- Ethylene Oxide
- Monitor sterilization cycles, biological tests, and documentation
- Operate and maintain sterilization equipment
Decontamination
- Sort, disassemble, and decontaminate surgical instruments
- Use proper PPE and follow infection control protocols
- Operate washers and sterilization equipment safely
Distribution
- Track and distribute surgical instruments and trays
- Maintain inventory and instrument tracking system accuracy

🎯 Requirements
- Minimum 1 year sterile processing experience
- High attention to detail (critical for success)
- Strong understanding of:
- Instrument processing
- Infection control
- Sterilization techniques
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment
🏅 Certifications
- Sterile Processing Certification (CRCST or equivalent REQUIRED)
- BLS (required)
🎓 Education
- High School Diploma or GED required
⚙️ Skills
- Knowledge of anatomy, medical terminology, and bacteriology
- Mechanical aptitude (assembly/disassembly of instruments)
- Ability to troubleshoot sterilization equipment
- Strong critical thinking and organizational skills
- Basic computer proficiency

- Ability to stand for extended periods
- Ability to lift up to 25 lbs repetitively
