Description

🏥 Facility Overview

Location: Lake Havasu City, Arizona
171-bed community hospital / regional referral center
Level III Trauma
Blended ICU/CVICU (mixed acuity)
16 ICU beds total

🔑 Key Requirements

2+ years ICU experience
Travel experience REQUIRED (this will screen people out)
Certifications:
- BLS
- ACLS
- NIHSS

👩‍⚕️ Unit Details

Ratios: 1:2 (standard ICU)
Patient population: Adult & geriatric
Common cases:
- Cardiac: STEMI, NSTEMI, CABG, valve replacements
- Respiratory: COPD exacerbation, acute respiratory failure
- Neuro: stroke, head injury
- Other: sepsis, overdoses, ETOH withdrawal
- Advanced care:
  - CRRT
  - Post-cardiac procedures (TCAR/TVAR)

👉 This is a true mixed ICU, not super specialized but expects solid all-around ICU skills.

⚙️ Work Expectations

You may float to:
- Intermediate Care (stepdown) as primary RN
- ED holds (boarding ICU patients in ER)
Equipment:
- Baxter pumps
Charting system:
- Medhost (less common than Epic—learning curve if new)

⏰ Schedule

Shift: Days (7a–7p)
36 hours guaranteed
Call required (not always typical for ICU—worth clarifying details)
No block scheduling requests
48 hours possible but not guaranteed
