🔑 Hard Requirements

• WA (Washington) license required to apply
• RRT credential required
• Minimum 2 years experience
• NICU experience REQUIRED
  • (Manager waived PICU, but NOT NICU)
• NRP certification REQUIRED → automatic rejection if missing
• Additional required certs:
  • BLS, ACLS, PALS

👉 Even experienced RTs get screened out here if they lack recent NICU + NRP

🏥 Patient Population & Acuity

• Mixed:
  • Neonates (key focus)
  • Adolescents
  • Adults
  • Geriatrics
• Vent load:
  • ~5 ventilated patients
• 500 rooms total facility size

👉 This is a do-it-all RT role, but NICU competency is the anchor

🌬️ Core Skill Expectations

You’re expected to function independently across:

Airway & Procedures

• Intubation assist & extubation
• Tracheostomy care & suctioning
• Nasal/oral airway management
• Sputum collection

Ventilator Management

• Required vents:
  • Draeger
  • Servo I
• Modalities:
  • BiPAP / CPAP
  • High-frequency oscillator
  • Vent weaning
  • Troubleshooting alarms

Medications (broad range)

• Bronchodilators (Albuterol, Atrovent, etc.)
• Inhaled steroids
• Nitric oxide (iNO)
• Advanced meds like Flolan, Tobramycin

👉 This is a full-scope RT assignment, not limited or specialized to one area

🧠 Clinical Knowledge Required

• ABG interpretation
• Basic EKG understanding
• Neonatal resuscitation competency (NRP)
