Job Title: OB Registered Nurse (L&D / Postpartum / Nursery) – Variable Shift

Position Overview:

We are seeking an experienced OB Registered Nurse (RN) to provide comprehensive care across Labor & Delivery, Postpartum, and Nursery units. This role requires a highly skilled nurse who can manage the full continuum of maternal-newborn care, from labor support through delivery and postnatal recovery.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide care to laboring patients, including monitoring progress and supporting delivery
  • Assist physicians and care teams during labor and childbirth
  • Deliver immediate care to newborns following delivery
  • Provide postpartum care to mothers, including recovery monitoring and education
  • Operate and interpret fetal monitoring systems
  • Document patient care accurately using electronic medical records
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure safe, high-quality patient care
  • Educate patients and families on postpartum care, newborn care, and recovery expectations
  • Respond effectively to obstetric emergencies and changing patient conditions

Schedule & Work Setting:

  • Variable shifts (day and night)
  • 12-hour shifts following orientation, averaging 36 hours per week
  • Required to take scheduled on-call shifts (minimum once per month)
  • No guaranteed shift preference or hours
  • Holiday coverage may be required

Unit Overview:

  • Labor & Delivery unit with multiple labor beds
  • Postpartum unit supporting maternal recovery
  • Nursery providing newborn care

Requirements:

  • Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (must be obtained prior to start if not currently held)
  • Minimum of 2–3 years of Labor & Delivery experience
  • Strong clinical skills across L&D, Postpartum, and Nursery care
  • Experience with fetal monitoring systems (e.g., GE/Centricity or similar)
  • Proficiency with electronic medical records systems

Certifications:

  • BLS/BCLS (required)
  • NRP (required)
  • STABLE (required or strongly preferred)
  • Advanced Fetal Monitoring (preferred)

Additional Information:

  • Candidates must complete all pre-employment and onboarding requirements prior to start
  • Flexibility with scheduling is essential, including rotating shifts and on-call assignments
  • Reference checks may be conducted
