Job Title: Clinical Laboratory Scientist (CLS)

Location: Lame Deer, MT 59043

Assignment Duration: July 31, 2026 – August 1, 2027

Position Overview

Chenega is seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Clinical Laboratory Scientist (CLS) to perform complex laboratory testing and analysis in support of diagnostic and clinical care services. The ideal candidate will ensure accuracy, reliability, and timeliness of test results while maintaining strict compliance with regulatory and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform moderate to high complexity laboratory testing across disciplines such as hematology, chemistry, microbiology, immunology, and blood bank
  • Analyze, interpret, and validate test results with a high degree of accuracy
  • Operate, calibrate, and troubleshoot advanced laboratory instruments and systems
  • Ensure compliance with all regulatory standards including CLIA, CAP, and applicable federal/state guidelines
  • Maintain accurate documentation of procedures, results, and quality control activities
  • Review and verify quality control data; initiate corrective actions when necessary
  • Assist in the development and implementation of laboratory procedures and protocols
  • Train and mentor laboratory technicians and junior staff as needed
  • Collaborate with physicians and healthcare professionals regarding test results and laboratory services

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Medical Laboratory Science, Clinical Laboratory Science, Biology, or a related field
  • Minimum of 2–3 years of clinical laboratory experience in a high-complexity setting
  • Strong knowledge of laboratory methodologies, instrumentation, and best practices
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Proficiency in laboratory information systems (LIS) and standard computer applications

Preferred Qualifications

  • Certification as a Clinical Laboratory Scientist/Medical Technologist (e.g., ASCP, AMT)
  • Experience working in a federal or government healthcare setting
  • Familiarity with laboratory accreditation and inspection processes
