Emergency Department (ED) Registered Nurse – Float Pool
Department: Emergency Department (Float Pool)
Assignment Type: Contract / Travel
Work Environment: High-volume, fast-paced ED (Level 1 Trauma Facility)
Shift: Nights, 36 Hrs/week
Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced ED Registered Nurse (RN) to join a dynamic Float Pool supporting a very busy Emergency Department. This role primarily involves caring for boarder patients in the ED, including those from Med/Surg, Stepdown, and ICU levels of care. Candidates must be flexible, as they may be required to float to acute care units when needed.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality nursing care to ED boarder patients across multiple acuity levels
- Assess, monitor, and document patient conditions accurately
- Administer medications, treatments, and interventions as required
- Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes
- Adapt quickly to changing patient needs in a high-pressure environment
- Float to other acute care units when required
Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of recent experience in a similar-sized Level 1 Trauma facility
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license
- Required certifications:
- BLS (Basic Life Support)
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)
- TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course)
